stroopwafel2Today my absolute favorite thing was enjoying a stroopwafel with vanilla ice cream. My husband, Cory, brought home a box of stroopwafels from his last jaunt out of the country, and they are quite delicious. If you don’t know what they are, as I didn’t before last week, they are a layer of caramel sandwiched between two brown-sugary waffel-type cookies. Almost heaven, but a little too much on their own, I found. The creamy vanilla ice cream was the answer I was looking for. And, in case anyone could possibly have been wondering,  I’ve been eating my ice cream in a mug for some time now. I like to think that it helps me limit how much I eat, but in reality I end up cramming the ice cream down in the mug as far as I can, so who knows. I also like having a handle to hold so that my hands don’t get cold.

I’ve also been hoarding links again. I love finding ideas from around the way to keep in my back pocket for, you know, just in case. And now, I share them with you!

  • Would love to make an “A” and “C” pillow like this one for Annabelle and Charlotte.
  • And lastly, these two posts really hit home with me: The first is from Elsa Mora, who makes the most beautiful and inspiring papercuts, and often has insightful commentary regarding the meaning behind her pieces. The second is from Blacksburg Belle, who is new to me, but I have enjoyed what I’ve read so far on this blog geared towards crafty entrepreneurs.

Thanks for hanging out with me for a bit! It’s always nice to sit and share with friends? And please, if you come across something you think I might like, feel free to leave a link in the comments or shoot me an email!

Right now our windows are open and I’m enjoying the fresh air or another beautiful day. We’re supposed to get up to 80 today! It’s a stark difference from the frigid air that we just experienced on a trip to New Hampshire (pics to come), but a welcome one, I assure you.

Are you ready for your weekend to start? Here are some happy links to add to the bliss that is today.  :)

  • First off, you have to take a look at these Peanut Butter S’mores Turnovers….just saying it makes my head spin. They look like heaven, but I haven’t ventured to make them yet. My friend is planning on making them for a dinner she’s having this weekend, and I’m so anxious to see how they turn out
  • I absolutely love this next idea from Craftiness is Not Optional. My girls love dressing up and their dress-up area is beginning to look like it exploded! I think this would be a fabulous idea to help keep things tidy, and it doesn’t look too difficult for my handy husband.

  • And, speaking of kid-storage solutions, how about this beautiful way to keep and display your child’s artwork from A Thousand Words? Our countertops always end up piled high with work that our kids lovingly created. While I do frame some individual pieces, I’m at a loss for what to do with the others. I hate the idea of throwing any of their artwork away, but there’s only so much room in our house for storage!  I love how they have so many works displayed at once. It looks so beautiful arranged together!  (And another lovely example can be found here).

  • And lastly, I have to share these two tutorials I came across showing how to make your own buttons. I think homemade buttons would really add a little something special to any project. These little twig buttons from Rhythm of the Home Blog are a particular favorite, but I also love how bright and cheery the ceramic buttons are that Jennifer made.

That’s it for now. Happy weekend, Folks!  See you soon!
