I started a new quilt a couple months ago, but along the way I decided to stop and re-think it. While I’m re-thinking my quilt, I think I’ll admire these others which I am currently loving.

Half the fun of participating in the Kids Clothing Week Challenge is seeing so many beautifully sewn items of clothing at one time. I am so impressed by the talent of other sewers and I love seeing what everyone comes up with. Here are some of my favorites from this year’s challenge (links are below the mosaic):

I’m still trying to get a picture of my girls wearing the last bits of sewing from the week. They’re planning on wearing their new clothes to school tomorrow so as long as they don’t change their mind (as is known to happen) I’ll snap a pic before they head off!

These deadline-driven tops are keeping me busy, and I’m so glad they are because I would probably continue to put them off otherwise, but the truth is I’m desperate to make a quilt. I’ve been pulling fabrics here and there and putting them together…you know…just to see. Above are some of my recent favorites on Flickr. I think all of them are from the Fresh Modern Quilts group. There is truly so much beauty to found in that group…it deserves a visit at least once every couple days or so. Go now, and be inspired!

I usually lean towards a more subdued color palette of blue-grays and sagey greens. But presently, I find myself drawn to this candy-colored combination of pinks and yellows. It savors of a sweet happiness that pleases me way down deep.
