Mother’s Day Makings
I finally got a chance to cut into that luscious stack of felt I recently acquired! Mother’s Day really crept up on me this year and I found myself coming up blank with ideas for what the girls could give to their Grandma and Great-Grandma. A quick look at the internets took care of that! I’ve seen these little flowers so many times before, but apparently I needed a reminder from from Family Fun in order for it to click.I cut various flower shapes from different colored felt sheets and the girls chose which pieces to use and how to arrange them. Great-Grandma got pin-backs on hers while Grandma, who is not exactly a corsage kind of gal, will be receiving flower-embellished headbands.
The girls had so much fun putting the flowers together and trying on the headbands I’m thinking we may be making some for ourselves in the near future. So, if you’re in need of something sweet and simple to make with the kiddos this Mother’s Day, go ahead and grab your craft felt and start cutting!
See ya soon!

Fun and Festive Easter Egg Garland
Our Easter decor has been noticeably lacking these past couple weeks and the girls were starting to question why we had nothing to show for the upcoming holiday when all the stores were clearly getting ready for it. So….we’ve been trying to add some festive Easter decor to our home, beginning with this super-simple garland!
Materials: plastic eggs, twine thin enough to fit into the holes, and a darning needle. (I tried a plastic needle and yarn first, but it was too thick to fit though the wholes in the eggs). The eggs should already have holes in the top and bottom.

Thread your needle take it though one end and then the other with the egg still open, then close the egg after you have passed through both sides.
Keep on threading until you have a pretty little garland to hang where desired! My girls are 2 1/2 and 3 and they both were able to help thread a few before losing interest. Plus we added in a little sequencing for extra, ahem, fun.
I took the pictures in my girls’ room because of the lighting, but ours will likely end up above our kitchen window.
Still to come is a paper-cutting project that the kidlets and I were able to do together. The results were wonderful and if I can get a good pic of it today, I shall have it posted by tonight!
Yay Easter!
