After participating in Made By Rae’s Spring Top week, I knew that Elsie Marley’s Kid’s Clothes Week Challenge was just the kick in the butt I needed to get crackin’ on some new duds for the girls. I’ve had a list of things I’ve been meaning to sew for them, but have had neither the motivation, nor the inspiration to get started. Now, I have neither of those problems…only lack of time. The challenge only requires an hour a day, which I’m pretty sure I can swing, but I also know how slow I sew. An hour each day for a week probably wouldn’t turn out more than one dress, which would leave one little girl mighty disappointed. So, my challenge to myself is to sew as much as possible over the next week and see what I can get done.
Here’s my list:
Annabelle:
- skirt (maybe this one?)
- butterfly dress
- apron (from Sew Liberated)
- towel cover-up
- finish this dress
Charlotte:
- dress with floral trim (inspiration)
- shirt dress
- skirt
- apron
- towel cover-up
Now, I know that it is totally unrealistic to try to finish all of these within a week, but having a list will be a great way to keep me going. And I will get to enjoy the satisfaction of crossing things off as I complete them.
Thankfully my girls are still relatively small.
Hope you’ll join in! See you soon!
P.S. There’s a TON of fabulous inspiration right now at Elsie Marley. Go now and just scroll on down to check out all of the mosaics that Meg has put together. Absolute eye candy!
